X-WindStation: Floating Substation
VL Offshore has developed two different types of floating substations: Semi and TLP.
• The X-WindStation is designed for a floating wind farm rated 200MW but it can be readily scalable for a larger wind farm. • The hull shape of both platforms are evolved from the X-Wind platform used for TLP type floating wind. • Topsides dimensions are estimated with existing fixed wind substations. • X-WindStation hull and mooring designs comply with ABS and API requirements • Validated with US and Korean offshore environmental conditions • Results presented in OTC and KWEA conferences
